Listen up, see? You want the good stuff. The real McCoy. You’re running a joint in Vancouver, and you need the cold gold flowing. We’re talking kegs Vancouver style. No bathtub gin here. Just the finest brew for your thirsty patrons.
I’m Rachel. I run things around here at UNEEDABOTTLE.CA. My boys tell me you’re looking for the lowdown on local legends like Farm Country and Five Roads. You came to the right place. Grab a stool. Keep your ears open.
The Local Heavy Hitters: Brewery Spotlights
If you want your bar to be the big cheese, you gotta stock the locals. They’re fresh. They’re bold. They’re the talk of the town.
Farm Country Brewing
These guys know their way around a hop, capiche? They’re one of our preferred breweries for a reason. Based in Langley, they bring that country feel to the city. Their stuff is pure class.
- Farm Country 50L Keg: $240
That’s about $1.71 per pint. You do the math. Your profit margin will be singing like a canary.
Five Roads Brewing
They’ve got the goods that keep 'em coming back. Whether it’s an IPA or a smooth lager, Five Roads is the real deal. They focus on the journey, but we only care about the destination: your tap.
- Five Roads 20L Keg: $125 to $160
- Five Roads 50L Keg: $240 to $280
The Rest of the Crew
Don't overlook the other players in the game. We're talking Train Wreck Brewing, Please Beverage, and Good Company. They all bring something special to the table. We update our stock and prices every week. Check out our all kegs page to see who’s in the lineup this Monday.

The Rulebook: When to Tap and How to Treat 'Em
You can’t just haul a keg off the truck and start pouring. That’s a rookie move. You’ll end up with a glass of foam and a disappointed customer. Follow the rules, or don't come crying to me.
How Long Should a Keg Sit Before Tapping?
You’re asking how long does a keg need to settle? Listen close. When those kegs are in the truck, they’re getting shaken like a snitch in a police precinct.
- The Golden Rule: Let it sit for 12 to 24 hours in the cooler.
- The "I Need it Now" Rule: At the very least, give it 1 to 2 hours.
If you ask when to tap a keg, the answer is: when it’s cold and quiet. If it’s warm, you’re pouring foam. Keep it between 36ºF and 40ºF. Anything warmer and the CO2 starts acting up. If you're asking how long should a keg sit before tapping, remember: patience is a virtue, but cold beer is a necessity.
Picking Your Weapon: 20L vs 50L
- The Sixtel (20L): Holds about 41 pints. Perfect for those small-batch experiments or a tight bar.
- The Half Barrel (58.7L): The granddaddy. Holds about 124 pints. This is what you want for a busy Saturday night.
- The European (50L): About 105 pints. Used by the imports and some craft boys.

The Product Deep Dives: From Value to Variety
Sometimes your regulars want something they’ve known since they were pups. We got the classics too.
Lucky Lager and Black Label
Looking for Lucky Lager for sale? We keep it in stock for the Island transplants and the value seekers. It’s a classic Canadian lager, no frills.
Then there’s Black Label beer Canada. It’s the kind of brew that’s been around the block a few times. Reliable. Steady. Just like a good getaway driver.
The Cider Scene: Lone Tree Cider
Not everyone wants a beer. Some want the crisp bite of Lone Tree Cider. It’s the perfect change of pace. We carry it in kegs for when you want to offer something refreshing on tap. It’s authentic, dry, and pulls its weight in any lineup.
Know Your Numbers: IBUs
Don't let a customer catch you off guard.
- Pilsner Urquell IBU: Sits around 40. It’s got a bit of a bite, but it’s balanced. It's the original pilsner, so treat it with respect.
- Coors Banquet IBU: A smooth 15. It’s easy drinking, perfect for a long session when you need to keep your wits about you.
- Okanagan Springs: (Or Okanagan Spring if you want to be proper). Their 1516 Bavarian Lager is a staple in BC. It’s the kind of beer that never goes out of style.
Troubleshooting: Why’s My Beer Acting Up?
If your beer is foamy, flat, or cloudy, you got a problem. Let’s fix it before the boss sees.
Foamy Beer?
- Temperature too warm: Check your fridge. If it's over 40ºF, you're in trouble.
- CO2 pressure too high: Turn that regulator down, see?
- Dirty faucet: Clean your lines every 2-3 weeks. We rent cleaning kits for $25 a week. Check out our kegorator cleaning guide for the full breakdown.
Flat Beer?
- CO2 pressure too low: Give it some gas.
- Glasses aren't "beer clean": Grease is the enemy. Rinse 'em with cold water first.
